Life.

I swear, it was just yesterday that I was feeling really good about having a jump start on the holidays. All of a sudden, Christmas is just around the corner. But, there is no time to worry. Last year, we did so many Christmas activities, but I just can't do it all this year. The kids have been super busy & can't be distracted with me trying to finish up Christmas cards or worrying about finalizing decorations in the house. Our tree has been up for 4 days, but Nick hasn't been able to get to the lights. At least it will give us all something to do on Saturday. In the meantime, the house smells divine!
While the holidays have been approaching, the little ones have been busy passing milestones of their own. Miss Greta finally named her babies. I remember when Ella reached the point when her dolls weren't called "baby," but actually received their own name. It makes me a little sad that Greta is growing up so fast. Ella named the doll on the right "Felicity." While we were in Las Vegas, Greta re-christened her "Sydney" in honor of Jessica's neighbor & Greta's old classmate. The doll on the left is "Shelia" after one of her teachers.
Greta is just too cute. And, with Nicole's observations, I realize she really never stops talking. Right now, she's focused on emotions - after the train wasn't working at the zoo, she announced "That made me sad. My mommy is so sad. My Nanette is so sad. My Grandma is so sad." She loves singing - current favorites include "Twinkle, Twinkle," "On top of Spaghetti," "Jingle Bells," and "If you're happy & you know it." I love listening to the parts she & Charlie make up. The biggest insult that is hurdled by the twins is to tell each other to go away. So, they love to sing "If you're happy & you know it, go away" and then they break down in giggles.
