Home Sweet Home

We have the keys to the house and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our stuff. Nick's friend Marty brought his boys over for pizza Wednesday night. The kids had fun running wild through the empty house & posing like statutes in the alcove's/window seat in our bedroom.
Usable living space is a premium in this house. The ridiculously large foyer drives me crazy. So, I've been having the kids eat there for now.
We sold our TV before we moved so Nick did a little Black Friday shopping for a new one. Pretty cool how you can get an internet connection through the TV. The kids watched a back story on one of the Amazing Race teams before we headed back to the apartment.

Hogan gives the new place rave reviews. He seems to feel right at home & is more settled than he is in the apartment.

Notable moments that I can remember:

Charlie has already lost 8 socks in the new (empty) house.
I spent about 3 hours Christmas shopping today. It felt fabulous to be out of the apartment.
My current home office will be the laundry room. It's a little depressing. But, I found some great inspiration on apartment therapy. I think I can make this work.
We had a great Cajun Thanksgiving with Marty & Joy.
We missed Halloween & Fall decorations so our Christmas Tree is already up. The prior owner left it for us. Ella isn't happy that it is fake.
Can you see the chandelier in this room? It's one of my favorite things about the house. Nick would not agree.
We've got the Internet up, but I haven't downloaded my camera in 2 weeks. My shaky camera phone pictures are tiding us over.
I've been trying to work on Nick's laptop for the past week. Having our desktop back makes me feel like I have the biggest computer screen in the world.

The house is going to be GREAT. I can totally see it with your stuff in it. I LOVE the alcoves in your bedroom...and look you are already making friends!
