We embraced the New Mexico traditions spending Christmas Eve in Old Town. We were not the only ones with this idea - luckily Nick found a good parking spot not too far away. Thousands of people were walking the streets, caroling & celebrating Christmas.
There is something about group singing in public that sends a chill down my spine. In addition to this organized group, there were several mini groups everywhere. It was lovely.
The old Catholic church in town hosted an outdoor mass and a live nativity. Across the street we found a tree to {almost} give Rockefeller Center a run for its money. We enjoyed hot chocolate with Nina & Grandpa Phil in front of the big tree.
And the luminaries - they were gorgeous. There were thousands lining all the streets & circling the church & sidewalks. Truly a unique New Mexico experience.
Hope your Christmas Eve was just as magical!
