To Nina, With Love

I've been a regular taxi this month. We spend a lot of time in the car. Ella reads in the back. Greta "reads" in the front & Charlie sits quietly. Yesterday, he surprised me by engaging in a conversation:

C: Mom? I think I'm going to write Nina a letter so that she sends me a present.
Me: What do you mean?
C: If I send Nina a letter, she'll send me a present.
Me: Well, it doesn't really work that way. If you send Nina a letter, she'll write a letter back to you.
C: Oh.
G: I want to write her a letter too.
C: I will say "Dear Nina, I love you and miss you and hope you can visit soon."
G: I will tell her that "I am going to camp in Indiana and I love her and want to see her and go swimming."
Me: I think Nina would be very happy to read those letters.

His intentions are sweet, but we'll see if I can convince him to put his sentiments into words.
