Cross of the Martyrs

Some time ago, we had some VIP's visiting. Santa Fe seems to be more of a tourist destination than Albuquerque. So, while the kids went to school, we took a day trip to the capital city.

I had read that the Cross of the Martyrs was "the place" to take out of town guests. However, we found the view less than impressive.
The site commemorates 21 Franciscan priests killed during the Pueblo Revolt of 1680.
If you are staying in Santa Fe, I would recommend hiking to the site for sunset when the sky adds a lovely colors to the desert dullness. And, of course, have reservations waiting after the hike. Santa Fe is famous for its restaurants.

Nick & I have a night at the Santa Fe Opera next month - I am determined to try a restaurant other than Cafe Pasqual's!
