Way back in April, with a potential move on the horizon, we used my cousin Nicole's visit as an excuse to check out some National Parks in southern New Mexico. First stop, Roswell. I don't remember why Greta was upset, but I am sure it was something I did.

I must say, I was a little disappointed in Roswell. We had to LOOK hard for alien stuff. Our timing wasn't great either. We left after school & by the time we arrived, the notorious Alien Zone was closed.

After some green chile cheeseburgers, we hit the hotel pool. Roswell looks like a nice college town that was picked up & plopped down in the middle of nowhere. We saw NOTHING for hours before we arrived in the town.
I think the kids had fun stopping for the night & it was the nicest hotel we stayed in. But, if Nick had been driving with us, I think it would have made more sense to drive farther our first day (though I would recommend stopping for a green chile cheeseburger - they were tasty!).
