Happy Valley Racing Hong Kong

On Nick's first night in Hong Kong, we joined my colleagues for a night at the race track.
Happy Valley
The track is in the middle of town.

We booked a package that included a private window for betting, AIR CONDITIONING, a buffet and drinks.
Happy Valley
We also had a very nice view of the race track.

Each race was a different length. They had information on our table so you could place your bets. I don't like losing money so I consistently made small bets.

For one race, we were allowed to go down on the track. I placed a bet before I left the suite. This was one of the horses I selected - based solely on his name.
Happy Valley
It was exciting to see the horses race right by you.

I placed a Quinella bet which means I had to pick the 1 & 2 spot horses. My horses came through & I wished I had placed a $30 USD bet instead of a $30 HKD bet (which is $3 USD).
Macau
It was a fun night and something out of the ordinary.  I don't think Nick had ever been to a horse race before (not a lot of gambling in Utah). We caught one of the last races of the season. Once the weather gets too hot, the track shuts down & the horses get to play in the water all summer. Overall, it was a fun night & great new shared experience.
