Charlie At 7 Months

Charlie has had quite the month! Tonight, he decided to burn the midnight (or 7 o'clock) oil with us while Greta went to bed. Among the tricks he learned this month are sitting up, holding his bottle and making the milk sign. He mastered these skills all within the last week. Still no teeth, but he sure likes to gnaw!

We also have some movement from Charlie. He will turn in a circle on his belly and has started a modified "crawl." He will do a backward inchworm move across the floor. He gets up on his arms and rocks laterally. Then, he raises his hips and collapses backward. We are in trouble!

He has regressed in one area. For the last two weeks, he has been waking up at night & crying until someone puts his pacifier back in his mouth. We are trying to figure out how we can teach him to do this himself. It wakes Nick up (but not me). Charlie screams like he has been abanonded for days. One night, it even woke up Ella.

Ella has a friend at school (Sophie) who has a 1 month old brother. The girls were apparently discussing the woes of being an older sister. Ella relayed her story about how Charlie was ALWAYS waking her up. "Yeah," said Sophie, "I remember when having a baby brother was fun." Oh, the struggles of a 4-year-old.
