Nick played on his softball team's final games on Thursday & called excitedly reporting that the team won the league championship. Because of various work obligations, he didn't get to play many games this year. After the first game, he went to InstaCare to see if his hand was broken. He went back Saturday & confirmed that the championship only cost him 2 broken ribs.
Saturday Jessica & Kevin took Ella to the pool & then we grilled crab legs & a whole chicken on the grill.
Sunday, we took the family up to the Park City Mountain Resort. We had a great time despite poor Greta's teething pain. The kids bounced around for an hour & enjoyed snow cones while most of the group went on the Alpine Rollercoaster (the big hit of the day). Afterward, I took Ella on the Alpine Slide. She LOVED it. I felt like I couldn't get our slide to go fast enough (we stopped before we reached the bottom), but she was telling Nick how fast we were going. She even rode the chair lift up the mountain. Afterward, we had dinner at Shauna's. She & Shawn prepared wonderful margarita's, chicken & salads, topped off with a raspberry buckle. Ella was especially sad to leave.
I took beautiful photos of the kids playing, a lovely family shot of the Nicolaysen family, portraits of the twins I needed & Nick got photos of Ella & me on the chair lift. It was a bit overcast, so the colors were beautiful (and no squinting!) - AND THEN, my battery died while the photos were downloading & I accidentally deleted all the photos. At least Ella was in a good mood when I dropped her off at school today, that makes the day a little easier.
