The Big Thaw

The lighting in this photo isn't great, but I love how Charlie & Greta are running after Ella. It was nearly 45 today - an absolutely beautiful day. Hogan got a nice walk & the kids got several walks to the end of the cul de sac. Ella is much more confident on her bike than she was in the Spring. The kids were so happy to be out of the house & running free.

We had a busy weekend. I'll post pictures of the Children's Museum adventures from Friday night. I had fun catching up with my friend Shauna at a continuing education event. Saturday Nick & Ella went skiing while the twins & I went to the local Art Market with Jessica. Saturday night Nick & I had our date night. We had an amazing dinner at Shabu (Nick had a gift certificate that covered about half our meal) & then we saw No Country for Old Men. Much bloodier movie than I expected. Nick likes the Coen Brothers & was happy we saw it in a theatre because he said he would have fallen asleep if we watched it at home. I'm not sure that is a ringing endorsement.

Today, I went to yoga with some friends (I am going to be sore tomorrow) & took Hogan for a walk with Jessica. I got the grocery shopping done before Nick leaves for Cincinnati (again). Kevin & Jessica came over for dinner & then I scurried off to my book club. I thought Water for Elephants was a decent book (not great), but everyone else really liked it. Jessica & Mom both said they had a hard time getting into the book. I didn't have that problem, but I felt the book was a little flat - like the author didn't do quite enough research about the subject matter before she starting writing. If you are going to be spending time on an airplane soon, it's an easy read. Our next book is End of the Road in honor of one of our members who recently moved to Alaska.
