Fund the Future

you {almost} can't tell this is a gymnasium

Ella's class project

Adorable dress-up outfits by Neva Fels.

We had Ella's school fundraiser on Saturday night. I spent a good part of Saturday at the school getting ready for the evening (and a good part of Sunday recovering from a long night). It was a typical evening of food, drinks & lots of bidding on silent & live auction items. I was truly impressed with the creative projects each teacher created with the students. Ella's class painted a cute rocking horse. All of the students signed their name & put a thumbprint on the horse. We were thrilled that one class project brought in $900! They are hosting a post-event auction at the school this week. We can't wait to hear what the final numbers are - the money will be divided between classroom supplies & scholarships. I found it funny because one of the silent auction items was an overnight stay at a bed & breakfast in Put-in-Bay Ohio. One of my college roommates grew up on the island & another has family reunions on the island almost every summer. However, it is not a very well known spot in Utah. I really didn't think anyone would bid on the trip since it would not be a typical vacation spot. But, there was a family from Ohio that has spent the last few summers camping in Put in Bay & they were thrilled that this summer they will actually have a place to stay!
