Hope Returns!

On Friday, Ella & her friends were thrilled to get to visit with their friend Hope. Hope & her family flew to SLC for a short layover on the way to visit family in Colorado. Ella really misses Hope & the hour they got to play was too much fun. It was tough to say goodbye again. But, before we know it, the girls will be emailing each other & talking on their cell phones. Sophie parents hosted a lovely brunch & lots of friends came to visit Hope & her family.
Mom & Charlotte made it into town in time for some snow. I think Mom is looking forward to a school day tomorrow, but said they were having a great time. Ella was THRILLED that they let her paint her toenails today & she said that Greta & Charlie were being good.
Nick & I made it to Scottsdale. It's a bit chilly, but we had a great dinner tonight. The Mexican restaurant we were eyeing for margaritas & appetizers was full, so we went to the other close restaurant. It was a Japanese fusion restaurant. I felt very uncultured because none of the appetizers looked good to me. So, I went with the waiter's recommendation of lobster. I rarely order lobster because it is usually poorly cooked & can't compete with my memories of fresh lobster in the summer. But, I was not disappointed tonight. Great flavors (better than Nick's Kobe Beef Ribs). Let's see if we make it to the gym tomorrow or if the inertia of vacation sucks us into a more leisurely day.
