An Historic Day

I feel so lucky to live in a country where the exchange of power happens so peacefully and with such pomp and circumstance. And I feel equally lucky to live in this technological era - where I could watch the innauguration live on my computer at work and replay the event for the kids at home. I found his speech a bit too realistic, but that is probably what our economic climate requires. It's concerning to see so many people (with presumably secure employment) losing their jobs. I don't think we've hit the bottom yet. But, it was a day of celebration and hope that there is a light at the end of this tunnel we are in.
As Ella was watching she asked me if there were any girl presidents. It made me happy to be able to say "not yet, but there will be someday soon."
