Tours of Old Town

I had a mini-Girls Night Out recently. Jodi & I made a last minute dash to Old Town to catch the Ghost Tour. I've done my fair share of walking tours, but have never thought to take a walking tour in my own town.

It was a great tour. Part history. Part Ghost Tour. Part (large part) Urban legend.  I know we both felt like we understood the town just a little bit more after the tour. I also know that if we see a lady in a purple negligee near this mosaic, we should treat her with respect.

One of the more interesting parts of the tour was learning about all the interesting things we found on Christmas Eve when we were walking around Old Town. Like this Madonna in the Cottonwood Tree. The tree rests behind the San Felipe De Neri Church & locals believe that the carving cured the tree of blight.

My favorite part of the night was hearing the history of the lovely chapel that we happened upon on Christmas Eve.  La Capilla de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe was built in 1975 as part of an Arts School.  It's a quaint chapel with colorful windows, a perpetual calendar (and a ghost, of course).
