All Done

Here are some pics of the twins painting their Father's Day Gifts. Greta just made a big mess & liked putting her fingers in the paint & smearing it EVERYWHERE. Charlie wasn't really into painting, but he stayed in a good mood. Greta has been having a tough time on the ride home - especially if we don't have her favorite blanket. She screams at the top of her lungs. High pitch horridness. Charlie sits there pleading, "No Greta, No." It's fun hearing him start to talk - more fun when he isn't pleading with his sister to stop the piercing screams.
Nick spoke to the nurse about his MRI & is convinced he will need surgery for his knee. He meets the doctor at the end of the month for the full overview.
You may have noticed our weekly menu is a bit more granola-y than usual. For some reason, I decided to do Oprah's 21 day cleanse (isn't it just cruel that an ice cream banner ad popped up on her website?). I'm now on day 7. No alcohol, no sugar, no animal products, no caffeine, no gluten, no fun. It's actually not too bad. My tongue is a little sensitive to all the nuts I've been eating. I sent Nick to Costco to buy raw nuts for cooking & he came back with all sort of salted, roasted nuts that can't be used in food (but they are tasty snacks). Nick is playing along at dinner time (but no, he hasn't eliminated the daily dose of beer & ice cream). You can read about the recipes & my experiences here.
